Second Day

We are officially on DAY 2 of No school.  It also happens to be Day 2 of no police academy! I am still at my friend's house (completely snowed-in) and Wes is at our apartment. He can see that the main road is clear, but he is still stuck inside the apartment complex because they don't plow the sidestreets or neighborhoods. Sheesh.

The plan for Wes is to go back to the Academy tomorrow (Thursday) and they told them to come in warm clothes because they are going to go shovel! Who knows where they are going to shovel at...but that is what they are doing. He also has to work on Saturday :o(. Good thing for him, he's had 2 days of uninterrupted video game and movie time! What a lucky duck.  Here are some pictures of what is going on here in Tulsa:



There are many photos online as well. Some people got stuck in their cars on the side of the road and had to stay in them over night. Guess that would explain the gas fill-ups?

    Bah ha ha. First off, LOVE THE BLOG! Secondly, people here in TN freak out over "the white stuff falling from the sky". Thirdly, I love how you just solved the "why-do-people-get-gas-during-blizzard" conundrum.

We're on our second round. Second round of Wes being a Field Training Officer (FTO) and having a fresh, shiny, no-scuffs-on-those-boots Officer willing and ready to learn all that Wes has to offer. PROS : 1. Wes loves to teach. He probably should have been a teacher - but he needs to do something different every day. Hence - Police work. Plus his love language is Words of Affirmation...so teaching was DEFINITELY out.  2. He is excellent at his job. He should be training someone how he does things because he does them right. He is proactive, and (amazingly...because it doesn't happen in other areas of his life) remembers people, faces, names...tattoos...etc.  3. There is extra time that comes with the training - time that we can use for vacations. This is appreciated as sometimes we don't get multitudes of alone time together. And when we do...we're tired...because we have a two year old...can I get an amen?? CONS : 1. He can't take any tim...
