My Little Polar Bear

As most, if not all of my friends/family know, my favorite animal is the Polar Bear. I have stuffed polar bears, pictures of polar bears, posters of polar bears, blankets with polar bears on them, etc. Now, I have a husband who is an official "Polar Bear"!

With and for the academy, he participated in the Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics on Saturday! I was so proud that he was excited to do it and he did SUCH a great job.   Even though it was 42 degrees outside and 32 degrees in the pool!!  He knew it was for a good cause and it was a great way for people to see the new recruit class! My good friend and her daughter came out to watch and support him as well. So proud and we got a good laugh out of it too!! Great job APOs!!

We're on our second round. Second round of Wes being a Field Training Officer (FTO) and having a fresh, shiny, no-scuffs-on-those-boots Officer willing and ready to learn all that Wes has to offer. PROS : 1. Wes loves to teach. He probably should have been a teacher - but he needs to do something different every day. Hence - Police work. Plus his love language is Words of Affirmation...so teaching was DEFINITELY out.  2. He is excellent at his job. He should be training someone how he does things because he does them right. He is proactive, and (amazingly...because it doesn't happen in other areas of his life) remembers people, faces, names...tattoos...etc.  3. There is extra time that comes with the training - time that we can use for vacations. This is appreciated as sometimes we don't get multitudes of alone time together.
