Sometimes this just makes me laugh...
Stories from the Academy are sometimes too much for me to handle (gross) but mostly, I just laugh at the ridiculousness that comes home. I love to hear about who Wes gets along with, and who he doesn't. I love to hear about the exercises and other things, but mostly, I love to hear about what they talk about when they are trying to not think about the craziness!
By now I have already mentioned all the funny PT they have to do (bear craws, crab walks, mountain climbers, etc) but now, apparently, its not funny anymore (at least to Wes :o) ). They went through some tough PT the other day that Wes could have done without! Also, they have given all themselves rules as well (which Wes is less-than-thrilled about!).
Example: Buddy System. This is apparently a Marine Corp tactic (correct me if I'm wrong, Becca!!) but now at the Academy, no one goes anywhere alone...even to the bathroom. My husband can't stand ME going potty when he is in the shower, let alone having someone walk to the bathroom with him. His face when he told me this was priceless.
He also comes home with stories from guys in the Marines or in the Army that are pretty hilarious as well. One of his favorites is about a guy who got in trouble and had to stand for hours in front of the mirror pointing at his face in the reflection and say "I'm not stupid, you're stupid" over and over and over. Weirdo things, but funny to hear.
We are definitely working still on figuring this whole Academy schedule out. One of our favorite things to do now is to watch a show in bed together before we fall asleep, lately it has been re-runs of Top Shot on the History Channel (great show). Sometimes I can convince him to watch Grey's or Parenthood...most the time that is out of the question and he's already zonked out!
This coming weekend should be a relaxer, but the next weekend we are going to try celebrate our ONE Year. Hopefully that works out and he's not too sore!
