Love My Weekends

Weekends are special for a teacher. Like their students, they get the chance to relax after a week of non-stop everything. Lucky for me, my APO gets the weekends off as well, which for the most part, has been a blessing and a time that we can actually TALK to each other about our weeks.  Now, I get to speak with my husband, of course, every day....just not in the most preferable situations. For example, to find out things to write on my blog about his day, it usually consists of  him in the shower and me sitting on the potty lid so I can get seven minutes of uninterrupted conversation. SOMETIMES we'll get to talk to each other while he polishes his boots, but since my husband is NOT a multi-tasker, this can become a tedious task of non-stop repetition for myself.  But I have gotten better about approaching him, so it doesn't end up like this anymore:

N: "So today, I introduced a history project that my students are excited about!"
W: (while polishing furiously) "What was that, babe?"
N: "My students are excited for a project".
W: "They used a projector, awesome"
N: "No. My students are EX-CI-TED for a PRO-JECT."
W: "What?"
N: "Nevermind."

This is, for the most part, why I am so very excited for weekends.  We get to sleep in, watch a movie together, talk about our weeks (or what we forgot to say the week before) and catch up on holding hands.

I can also catch up on the cleaning of my house (which is just NOT feasible during the week with grading, preparing for class, Wes' APO things painted on my floors and tables). I am very guilty of spreading my things around as well - but not NEARLY as bad as my husband. Having a one bedroom apartment does not help either. We need spaces for things and do not have them. Unfortunately, we will not have them for another four months or so. We have a storage unit, thank goodness, but we still need MORE ROOM for everyday things. Very frustrating.

Hopefully this week will be good. I have my last field trip of the year this week and should be home at a decent hour most of the time. Our THIRD YEAR anniversary of dating is this week, I can't believe it and next week will be our FIRST YEAR of <3 Marriage anniversary.  :o) With all this craziness, I wouldn't change a thing! I am blessed to have a wonderful husband that loves me to pieces...but I love him more. ;o)
