Blizzard: 2011

Schools around here close on a whim.

What?! White flakes falling from the sky!?!? No. No this cannot be happening to us. No. What?! What is that you say!? OVER A FOOT?!!?!?!?!?  We cannot fathom this! We must shut things down..WE MUST CLOSE DOWN THE CITY.

Of course this is not my actual response to this snow fall. I have seen things over the past few days that makes me giggle. The main thing I do not understand is the complete "freak out" that is happening at the moment.

1. People are filling up their cars with Gas. Question: Why?  Are you planning to drive long distances in this Blizzard:2011? I think not. Are they planning to siphon gas in your tank for possible generator gas?

2. The bread shelf is empty. Question: Are you planning on PBJs holding you over? Why is it that staples are "Get Bread, Milk and Eggs". I am sorry, but when I think that I am going to be in my house without power, the last thing I think is "hmm..I could really use some toast and scrambled eggs."

Ok I know I am being silly. My school is out and that is what I really care about here. :o) I doubt that we will have school on Wednesday either. Or Thursday. Or Friday. I kid! I KID. Not really. If we close for 1" we close forever for 9".

Wes hasn't heard if he is off from the Academy yet. I doubt they will close, however there has been a phone chain established and it could be activated at any time. Now if the police are telling their citizens to stay home, wouldn't that include them? Unless it is like training for snow-like conditions. I doubt that though. That would mean they would get into a vehicle...and knowing my husband that could be dangerous ( can I get an Amen Trista? Tami? hahaha).

In any case, to ease any concerns, I am at a good friend's house tonight. Fully equipped with a working fireplace, gas stove and bottles of water.

Plenty of bread, eggs and milk as well......
