Drillers

Last night was a first. We went to our first baseball game as a family and it was so much fun!  Our wonderful friends took us to their seats (perfectly down the first base line) so it was the perfect view. Did I say it was perfect? Boo did such a good job. He had gone without a nap ::danger, danger:: but it did not effect him!! He lasted until after the 7th inning before he got a little grumpy! Thankfully Daddy had walked him around so he could see everything before that :o) He even got to hang out with some of Daddy's police buddies for a bit! I definitely had a moment of....wow....what is this going to be like in one, three, ten years?? Will we be able to sit? Will either of us see the game, or will it be watched through the fence of the playground? Will I be bringing extra clothes because Boo will be soaked from the Bubblers? Made me smile for that moment...made me remember how much I love living here. It was about a two block walk back to the car that night....the ...

Jesus in Disguise

" Ever got something in your head, It's nothing you've heard or something you've read? Ever had a cut but never saw the blade?Brought to your knees, but you never prayed?" I must admit that my husband listens to Christian radio a lot more than I do. When we are riding together, we usually listen to it unless I turn it. I get bored with the same songs being played over and over and need a mixture of things (probably why my pre-sets have all different types of stations on every number). But there is this one song. One song that makes me catch my breath every time because of how beautiful the lyrics are and how true they are. I find myself tearing up and thanking God for what he reveals... " Jesus in Disguise- Jehovah passing by. The burden of a tear, hanging in your eye. Jesus in disguise - A star across the sky...... " Ever feel like you've been somewhere before? You hold the key...you know which door. Speak the word your lips have never ...

Better Late than Never??

Forgive me for the absence. I believe it was just the case of the "overwhelmies" that took over this blog. I started it with good intentions and then realized, oh gosh. I just got specific with the title and now every post is going to have to be about being Policeman's Wife. Then I realized that being a Policeman's Wife is just another name I hold. Teacher, Youth Leader, Volunteer, Disciple, Policeman's Wife, Plain ol' Wife, Daughter, Neice, Granddaughter, Cousin, Sister...etc etc etc etc. So really it is just about me. I obviously want to sprinkle bits and pieces of my life a PMW....but also about other things. I mean why not, right? So get ready to see pictures, read about cooking and baking adventures and get topped off with a little PMW action. First off - Meet Susie. She is a 3 month old Great Dane and the cutest one I have ever seen. Today was a milestone in her life as well! My husband sent me the following text today: Victory!! Vict...

Shift Work

Let's be honest when we say that Shift Work for Police Officers is a joke.  They are NOT on a shift, so they should not claim to be!  All of this said - I am not trying to get anyone worked up about this, I just wish that they would change times to actuality. Currently, Wes is technically on 3rd shift which is 2pm-10pm.  Alas, he actually works from 1:30ish to whenever he comes home. Which could be 10:30pm - 4:00am. It really doesn't work out the way that it claims, obviously.  I realize that they are doing their job - but sometimes I am frustrated because plans can be ruined!!!   Woes.

These are a few of my favorite things....

Whenever I feel blue...I tend to hunker down, watch my favorite movies and eat obscene amounts of Whoppers. Don't judge me. Anyway...we all have favorite things. I know we've all been asked about our favorite foods, movies, books etc. We all have favorites. What an interesting concept if you really think about it. I mean, we have ONE thing that we REALLY enjoy within a subject (restaurant, store, color) and we proudly announce it to others. Which I assume is to attract other people with similar favorites....make new friends! I digress... I have officially found a NEW favorite. It is obviously not blogging. But instead.....riding along with Wes during his shift. It. Is. A. Mazing. Seriously...I have so much fun. I don't even care if it is is for an hour or for five hours. I feel like I know a large area in Tulsa...but only in night colors..you know: black....blue...yellow lamp lights that have gotten shot out....neon...etc. Don't worry...I had the per...

It's Finally Turning Cold

This past month has been a whirlwind. Even though the Holiday Season is my favorite time of the year, I seem to get the most stressed out as well. I know I am not the only one that feels this way - but man...when I was a 'kid' it was AWESOME. Sleep in...no responsibilities...Dad took me to buy the presents for everyone and my money was kept in HIS wallet!!  (Let's be honest...when I go home, I still keep it in there). But still - December is such a long month. We have about seven birthdays to consider (including both of ours), anniversaries, and of course...Christmas. This all comes with presents, cards, Christmas Cards, wrapping, bubble wrap, tape.  I am pretty sure we spent about $160 on SHIPPING ALONE. I stood there scooting five boxes that were as stacked up as tall as I am in the line on a rainy afternoon in the post office thinking: "This is why I need to move somewhere closer to family". I always somewhat snap out of that though when I remember how...

Well it's ONLY a month later...

This is why I never had journals. I can never keep a journal or diary going for a consistent amount of time. I don't know if it is that I run out of things to say, or if I just am trying too hard to find the right words to place. I guess I'll get to it when I get to it. Wes still loves being a Police Officer ( I feel like that is never going to change). I find that he cannot wait to go to work and when he gets back, he's ready to still be there. Don't get him wrong - he likes having breaks, he is just really passionate about what he does. I digress... Trying to keep up with this again..we'll see!
