Uniforms

Everyone knows that police officers wear a uniform. Whether its blue, black, brown or even green - officers of the law are separated by their clothing and what is on their belt.

Being a teacher, I have somewhat of a uniform myself. Only, I can switch it up every once in a while. But lets face it - we all have our "uniforms" or things we like to go to when we can't find anything to wear...(this statement often gets me looks from my husband as he points to my sets of drawers and my 1/2 of of the walk-in).

Every day before work, Wesley puts on a belt. He has to wear one because it holds all of the necessary items for him to do his job.  My belt on the other hand....is because I love belts. I really don't know why I don't have more....I mean....I obviously rock them. ;o)

Police officers are very picky about their boots. Wesley has to get certain ones...and once they get worn, we're back to buying new ones. One thing that I totally don't understand is the extremely long laces?? Why do they sell them so long? He is constantly wrapping and wrapping and wrapping!! I would be so annoyed.

I suppose that wearing boots is true for my uniform as well. I'm guilty of buying more of them as well. Who doesn't like a new pair of boots?

Wesley would probably say that the most important part of his uniform is not the pants, or boots, or shirt...but all the hardware he carries and is a part of it. His vest, his cuffs, his gun, knife, flashlight...etc. I would agree with him. I don't care which shirt he wears, which pants he wears (unless I have to iron them...then I care). I care that he has the right hardware to make sure he comes home at night.

My hardware may be a bit different....BUT STILL IMPORTANT.

He has it a lot easier than I do. He doesn't have to think about what uniform to put on...just needs to be clean. Good thing I like creating my uniform every day!

Blessed this morning before class starts :o)

  1. OK so this daily effort was way more about your mom in you than any part of me... I like that you kick up a little of both of us but in the end its really the dynamite you.
