Keeping on Schedule
It's 5:30a and my alarm is going off.
Of course I am going to push snooze...let's be honest. I never wake up at 5:30...I just like to push snooze.
Maybe more than once.
I wake up, shower/get ready, make my breakfast/coffee, make lunch, get Boo's things ready for the day, let Susie out and then feed her...give Wes back the monitor I've kept with me all morning and then get going. Hopefully by 7:00 to get to school.
Wes usually wakes up when Boo does. Anywhere from 7a - 8:30a. Feeds him, plays with him, runs errands if necessary, three days out of the week takes him to an amazing pre-school, eat, play, nap, repeat...
Then I get home. He goes to work 4/7 days a week and we start all over.
It is safe to say we are exhausted.
So let me tell you now about my little escape. It's not what you think its going to be...in fact, many people might say I'm crazy.
My classroom.
I absolutely LOVE where I work. I know everything about it, I have control over things happening here, the people here are my family, and I get to teach children about loving God and what He has done for us. It is amazing to see how students can grow in such a short period of time. I love to be the witness of that transformation.
My students are hilarious. We have "Disney Music" time when they work and for some reason, my Pandora station has been stuck on Tangled and Frozen music, haha. Which is obviously the perfect selection for the six boys in my class. They all sing along anyway (even some boys that would deny that they do to their parents).
Almost every recess, they all play together. I have never seen a class do this. It is such a blessing to see how much they care for each other. I would say that my biggest discipline problem in class is that they get along too well.

My happy place. Full of books, flascards, puzzles, construction paper, sticky notes, workbook pages, sharpened pencils, little erasers, calculators, whiteboards and posters.
This place is one of my favorite places to be. I love that my husband is a Police Officer, but is it my life? No. Do I appreciate his sacrifices? Yes. But I am a teacher. I keep this schedule; he keeps his; we keep ours. It works out. God is Good.
Dear Boo's Mama, .. let me count the ways,,,,, we've always known and often been told how similar or twinsieish we are with each other.. but this latest blog really brings it home. I will never forget the first time I entered a stationary store (back before office supply or craft or fabric stores)It was all the words and feelings that go with winning the lottery: the colors of paper, the pencils and inks and textures and doo-thingies that hold your watchmacallits. And thus began my life-long love of crafting, office supplies, organizing my drawers and then leaving them and the cupboard doors open so I could see all my stuff. #2 I loved riding around with Dad in his patrol car, but during the day shift mostly and I don't think he ever stopped anyone.#3 I love Rea Drummonds show and recipes tool(we've talked about this if memory serves) and finally#4The lyrics of so many songs speak to us in meaningful ways. You though, have so much more to offer than I ever had and your heart shines thru in each of these blog snapshots..
