Wes Likes Dogs

This is truth beyond anyone can imagine.

Wes has always* (for what he can pretty much remember) had a dog in the house. Correction - had a dog...around the house. For it was not allowed inside because it was a husky and they don't like being inside :o). ANYWAY - he loves them. He loved his old husky and he loves his parent's new husky (coincidently named "Niko"....when I'm there...it gets very confusing.  "Where's Niko? Under the deck" Me: "Um..actually I am right here...".  This goes on and on...)
Wes and Niko - Thanksgiving Snow

When we pass a dog in the street...he will pet it. When he hears a dog bark, something inside of him decides "Oh! Maybe I should bark too! Maybe I know how to communicate with dogs!! Scientific Breakthrough!!!!!!!!!!!" And I am stuck next to a barking human.

Please, please don't start talking about General, the Phi's St. Bernard. Oh lord...the converstation will turn for at least an hour between everything from "Otis/Pots/Mail" (nod to PDTs...) and the word "Cheese". I am guilty of it as well...I love that dog....just not to the level as Wes.

Wes and General :o)

And now, here we are...in the Police Academy. Coincidently, the Kennel is at the academy as well...and Wes gets to hear the melodic barks and yips while shooting his gun and running. What a pleasant time for him to be able to hear these man-eating, drug-sniffing, no-bull canines and just enjoy it! Only Wes would.

Obviously my personal favorite.... :o)

The first clue that he gave others in his squad that he could be headed for K9 was when sitting with his group waiting by the range. One of his buddies heard the dogs barking, and sarcastically said to Wes "Anderson! Make those dogs stop barking!" My husbands reply was simply "I like dogs". Except...to everyone else....it came out very much like the "I Like Turtles" child (for reference...YouTube 'I Like Turtles'.) and immediately sent the group into an uproar of laughter.  From then on - it was almost like a predestination.

Then we stumbled upon "Unleashed: K-9 Broward County" on TLC. Hilarious...highly recommended. However, I'm pretty sure I've seen each episode at least 5 times. So now...the seed has been planted.  The seed is watered every day by the yips and barks at the academy.

My future apologies to anyone coming to visit my house. The dog will just be trying to protect me....sorry about your arm.
