No Sleep Weekend of Shift Change

Wes has been out in the field for the past six weeks and it has gone great, minus the fact a that little sleep takes place.
The fact that he gets no sleep may or may not be Wes' least favorite part of his job. Wait...no...he really despises wearing wool and a Kevlar vest in 104 degree temperatures. Maybe that's a tie?!  Well anyway - it is a bummer because he LOVES to sleep.

The job is going really well otherwise. He LOVES learning new things and he is really good at it (being a teacher, I am going to entitle myself to give these kinds of assessments...even if it may mean inflating my husband's ego a smidge). Out in the field, he got a few "least acceptables" and a few "most acceptables"  every night for the first few weeks. Now, he is getting most acceptables way more than least acceptables!  Ok, let me get these braggin' shoes off...

This shift has been great for Wes. He learns so much, and he gets great calls. However, because it is from 4:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. T-F, it cuts in to times that I don't get to see him. That being said, the last few weeks have been interesting. It did get better when school started, because he could come have lunch with me before he went into work .

But now...taadaaa...we get day shift for a whole month!!!!!!!!!! la la la ...joy joy joy...!! He'll work from 6:30 a.m. (please Lord, let him become a morning person because of this) until 2:30 p.m. I LOVE IT!!  Alas, it will be short lived for about another 25 years I'm guessing....

Because of this shift, this weekend will be an adventure to say the least. Wes will be working Saturday night from 4:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. and then have to turn around and go to work at 6:30 at his new job.  And that will be his 3rd day of work...and he won't have a day off until the next Friday. Ahh..adventure..

But until then - I get to use this creepy creeperton iPhone app to locate his whereabouts when I am missing him:

...the only problem is that he can see where my phone is too...like this morning when he said "Are you at QT?"....YES...I AM A MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER WITH A NEED FOR CAFFEINE!!! DON'T YOU JUDGE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
