Beauty and the Police

The blog is going through a transformation.

Yeah. It's happened before. I couldn't quite figure out my purpose. My niche. I wanted to talk about things I liked and enjoyed (and that would entice people to read it...and then share it with others...hint cough hint) but still be able to talk about my husband's profession and give it the appropriate respect it deserves.

Breath in...breath out. Starting over/anew is always a crazy deal.

So my super-awesome friend (we'll call her KJ) gave me an idea. She said I should write about beauty and fashion. And at first - I was super intimidated by this. But she brought up a few things that I probably knew about myself but didn't want to just shout off the rooftops!

1. I love beauty products and I usually tell everyone I know about them if I enjoy them.

2. I LOVE to pin outfits on Pinterest. On top of that...I like to find staple pieces, search for those on Pinterest and then make outfits from the pins I have found.

3. I love to figure out how to find and utilize trends...as cheaply as possible. Because LET'S FACE IT...I'm a teacher...and my husband is a Cop. We're not rollin' in the Benjamins.

KJ just made it really clear to me what my purpose with this blog should be. Blog what I love and keep writing about who I love as well. SO THANKS, LADY!!

So lets start this thing off with a simple review.

Lately I have been (maybe....ok....immensely) obsessed with 'Beauty Boxes'. I am currently a subscriber to both Birchbox and Ipsy. I also get Walmart's every season. I also recently bought Target's Beauty Box. I have yet to receive my first Ipsy or Walmart box but I have really enjoyed my first Birchbox and Target Beauty Box!

Let's talk Target's Beauty Box.

Target (insert statement about how much I adore this mecca) sells a $5 Beauty Box everyone once in a while. And apparently if you're on the late end of ordering...sometimes they do not include everything in the box (as for me...the Neutrogena Gel).

What WAS in my box...was AWESOMENESS...for the most part.

//L'Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender//
 First up...L'Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender. This one I love. I have noticed a HUGE difference in the length that my makeup stays on my face. I tend to rest on my hands or rub my temples, so my makeup usually comes off then. Definitely a great product...I just wish it was more of a aerosol can vs. a spritz.

//TresEmme Hair Spray//
 I'd like to think this one was just for me. It's like Target knew me and thought...Nichole will be buying this and she probably needs a small version of the hairspray she uses for her purse. Thanks for thinking of me, Target.

//Maybelline Gloss//
 Now this one, I was excited about. I am enjoying trying different lip colors, glosses, etc. If you have a favorite, please comment below!! I would love to try them!! Anywhos - this one...first off...super cute packaging..because they want you to look at it like a lip stick. Alas...when you unscrew the bottom...BAM!! Gloss!! It is super soft...and feels silky throughout the day! Plus I love the color name - Los Cabos! For those of you that live in the Tulsa area...that just means YUM!!

//Shea Superfruit Complex//
I was very excited about this shampoo...and unfortunately it disappointed me. I have recently started to use different hair products in attempt to grow my hair out/get my hair healthy/try new things.

Maybe it's part of almost being done with my twenties? yikes.

This shampoo was very difficult to rinse out, and it felt like it was still in my hair afterward. Yuck. Maybe I will try to put some only on my ends next time. Has anyone every used this product? Do you have tips?

Well there you have it - my Target Beauty Box.   Want to see other things? Please comment below!!

NEXT: Birchbox.
